Questions
How is the cost per view calculated?+
Each promotion type has a base rate per view, multiplied by an audience factor. Worldwide is the baseline; the US, UK, Canada and Australia cost 2.2× more because the ad auction there is more competitive. India is the cheapest at 0.7×.
Why do YouTube ads cost more in some countries?+
Every view is won in an auction. Where more advertisers bid for the same attention — mainly English-speaking, high-income countries — each view costs more. The same budget therefore buys two to three times more views at worldwide targeting.
Is this an estimate or the actual price?+
It is the price. The rate shown is what you pay per view, and the view projection is what the budget is planned to deliver across the week.
What is the smallest budget worth running?+
$29 for one week. That delivers enough views to read a retention curve and an audience breakdown, which is the point of a first campaign.
Do bigger budgets get a better rate?+
Yes. From $500 a week the effective rate drops 5%, from $1,000 it drops 10%, and from $2,500 it drops 15% — shown as extra views for the same money.
